Stock Building Supply is currently searching for a Record Retention Lead for Raleigh, NC.  This position will assist management by directing daily work activities for associates in assigned work areas including the receiving, stocking, pulling, loading and delivery of merchandise. May personally perform duties listed.

Job Description:

  • Unloads or oversees the unloading and storage of incoming merchandise.  Ensures that merchandise received matches orders.
  • Schedules and dispatches customer deliveries to job sites. 
  • Provides customer service for retail, contractor or professional builder customers. 
  • Evaluates returned merchandise for proper disposition (resale, salvage, etc.).
  • Directs and trains in assigned work area which may include, yard/Warehouse Workers, Forklift Operators and Truck Drivers.
  • Maintains a clean yard environment including warehouses, fences and open areas.  
  • Organizes yard layout according to merchandise needs.  May complete requisition for replacement of stock merchandise.
  • Completes required inspections and forms.  Ensures maintenance is performed.
  • Oversees cut lumber and notifies supervisor so that inventory may be adjusted.
  • Trains associates; planning, assigning, and directing of work; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts.
  • Fills duties and responsibilities of Forklift Operator as needed.
  • Fills duties and responsibilities of Truck Driver as needed.
  • Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
  • Directs work activities for 1-5 Associates in a small yard, 5-15 in a medium yard and 15 or more in large yard.  
  • Ensures compliance with operational safety and security policies and procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education required— High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum experience required— One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Special skills required— Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Good interpersonal, communication and Customer Service skills.  Knowledge of building materials products and lumber required.  Previous supervisory experience in a lumberyard is desirable.
  • Other—Ability to lift up to 100 lbs on a repetitive basis, also duties may include constant movement, squatting stooping and twisting.
